Workflow management rules enable businesses to define their business processes without vast programming expertise. These rules allow organizations to automate the execution of tasks that need to be completed and offer an opportunity to detect potential issues with a process in real-time.
In the workflow, evaluation criteria determine when an action must be carried out. The criteria can be based on different parameters like field values, record types and ownership of records, and many more. Workflow rules can also be configured to trigger actions in response to events that are related to notes in a specific module. For instance, a firm could configure the rule to run when a note is changed or added so that it is easy for support teams to keep track of competitor mentions in emails and then respond quickly.
A rule can trigger an immediate action or a scheduled event. Instant actions are activated within minutes after the rule has been activated. Scheduled actions trigger later.
The scheduled action will be executed at the time and date configured. The action could be an email notification or field update, task webhook, or function. You can also select any email notifications as well as tasks, field updates or webhooks that you want to associate with the planned action. You can also choose tags to use to filter the recorded data to the action.
